Xcel Gymnastics
The USA Gymnastics Xcel program was developed as an alternative competitive program, offering coaches and gymnasts increased flexibility. The objective of Xcel is to provide gymnasts of varying abilities and commitment levels the opportunity for a rewarding gymnastics experience. The program permits a wide selection of skills to meet requirements, allowing selection to be based on an individual athlete’s strengths.
While this program was developed to be an alternative program within USAG it is now the biggest entity, providing lots of great competition. The Xcel program emphasizes sportsmanship, leadership, teamwork, and enjoyment while still having a strong focus placed on correct technique, form, and performance.
