Learning how to flip safely and confidently is both fun and important! Therefore the LIS Back Handspring Clinic offers the opportunity for focused time with coaches and equipment in order to train the back handspring. These clinics exist for a range of athletes, including those new to the skill, as well as those who may already perform a back handspring and would like additional practice- time and instruction. Typically, athletes will be split into groups and proceed through rotations to train their flips with the use of tumbling apparatus (wedge mats, barrels, Tumble Track, etc.) and hand-spotted coaching. Stations and drills are setup based on LIS’s categorical approach to back handsprings: Flight; Form; and Flexibility.
